Job opportunity at Glasgow University

Soft tissue surgery opportunities at Glasgow Vet School.

Due to the impending departure of one of our soft tissue surgeons back to Australia, we are currently recruiting to two positions. The ideal candidate(s) will hold a Diploma or equivalent qualification, but a residency-trained colleague due to sit exams will also be considered.

Soft tissue locum – to join the team for a minimum of 3 months. This post carries a 100% 'on clinics' commitment, managing solely soft tissue cases.

Full time position – soon to be advertised on the University of Glasgow Website ( This is a permanent academic post, with a significant element of ‘off clinics' time for research and scholarship (including exam study). Should the applicant be pre-Diploma, the position could facilitate up to 30% of ‘on clinics' time to be spent on orthopaedics, prior to Diploma success.

The appointees will join a friendly and supportive team of 4 other surgeons (ECVS Diplomates) and 2 ECVS residents, working in an exceptionally well-designed hospital with outstanding facilities. The Small Animal Hospital is located at the Garscube Estate, 10 minutes drive from the vibrant ‘West End’ of Glasgow, and less than one hour from Loch Lomond.

Colleagues interested in either position should contact Prof. Sandra Corr for an informal chat in the first
